NEW DELHI: Job seekers, here’s something for you: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched National Career Counselling Portal as part of an endeavour to modernize all government-run employment exchanges.

The National Career Counselling Portal, which is being set up under the National Career Service (NCS) project, aims at transforming all the government-run employment exchanges. The web portal will act as a one-stop platform for both job seekers and job providers where registration can be done online.

These exchanges will be called National Career Counselling Centres. Apart from searching and applying for jobs on the portal, candidates can also avail career-related counselling by either visiting these centres or through its helpline numbers.

The  portal: matching jobs, building careers, powering dreams

There are about 982 employment exchanges in India and, in the first phase, the government plans to modernize and transform 100 of these. A sum of Rs 190 crore has been allocated for the purpose.
